South Asian Music Syllabus 2026 now available!

The South Asian Music Section has expanded to include Hindustani Classical Music classes, kindly developed by Debjanu Datta

Debjani Datta is an accomplished vocalist, performer, and educator specializing in Hindustani classical and semi-classical vocal music. She began her musical journey as a child artist on television and All India Radio and trained under eminent gurus including Pandit Nihar Ranjan Banerjee, Late Pandit Arun Bhaduri, Late Smt. Shipra Bose, and Pandit Nirmalya Dey. A graduate with distinction from Rabindra Bharati University and recipient of the Sangeet Visharad, she has been honored by prestigious institutions such as the Dover Lane Music Conference and the Rajya Sangeet Academy. Alongside her classical work, she has collaborated with leading music directors for jingles, telefilms, and Bengali films, and shared the stage with legends including Jagjit Singh, Kumar Sanu, Javed Ali, and Jolly Mukherjee. As the founder of Naad Spandan UK and an examiner and guide for PRSSV, UK, Debjani is dedicated to promoting “music without boundaries” and inspires students worldwide—including those with special needs—to embrace music as both an art form and a path of hope.
